The Vilage It’s only a ten minute walk from Passo Lou Ben to the centre of Dieulefit, right at the foot of the Tour d’Horloge. When you look up towards this clock tower it will show you the following proverb: Lou tems passo; passo lou ben. Translated freely: Time passes, enjoy it! At Passo Lou Ben we will do our up most for you to have a wonderful time. Dieulefit is a village with nearly 3000 inhabitants. It is especially famous for its earthen ware and healthy fresh air. From all over France, people with health issues come to Dieulefit to recuperate. A whole new health farm is being built at this moment. The village is lively. You will find various delicious bakeries and pastry shops, butchers and several grocers. You will also find a few restaurants, 2 churches and a large number of galleries with traditional but also modern ceramics. You will find peace and quiet in the medieval part of town, with its steep and narrow streets. And then there are the lovely terraces from where you can watch the world go by whilst enjoying a grand café noir or a good glass of wine.
Every Friday the weekly market takes place on the banks of the river
Jabron. You can smell The Provence here. Every other year a big ceramic
and antiques market takes place. This is what Dieulefit means: made by God! |
